THE AREA
Greendale Farm is situated on the outskirts of Barnstaple, at the end of an unadopted lane and within its own land, with the River Taw and Tarka Trail adjoining the end of the garden providing immediate access. At the same time, Park Secondary School, Rock Park, and nearby Newport shops are all within a short distance. Newport is a well-liked Barnstaple neighbourhood, and it's only a mile by car or a good walk to the town centre.
The primary business, commercial, recreational, and retail establishments in the area are located in Barnstaple, along with the District Hospital, a pannier market, and a live theatre. Newport Primary Academy, Park Secondary School, and the Tarka Trail, which is a component of the national cycling network, are all within walking distance. Also nearby is the North Devon Link Road, which provides access to the M5 at Junction 27 in around 45 minutes.
Tiverton Parkway adjacent provides a quick train service to London Paddington in a little more than two hours. Although there are many golf clubs in the area, the two championship links courses at Saunton and the Royal North Devon at Westward Ho! (the oldest club in the UK) are the most well-known.
A few miles away, in Instow, on the banks of the River Torridge, where the North Devon Yacht Club is based, sailing is possible on the coastal waters. Exmoor National Park to the north, as well as the fantastic sandy surfing beaches at Saunton Sands, Croyde Bay, and Woolacombe, are all easily accessible by car. The only UK coastline designated as a "World Surfing Reserve" is North Devon. A daily local rail runs between Barnstaple and Exeter, the county town and cathedral city with an international airport, which is slightly over 40 miles away.
