ABOUT THE PROPERTY
Coxswains Cabin is a traditional part thatched terraced cottage providing two/three bedroomed accommodation for refurbishment, nestled within the heart of this popular hilltop village. The cottage, which is not listed, lies within the conservation area of the village and is believed to date back to the mid 1300’s with later extensions to the rear. A rear vehicular access provides ample off road parking beneath a car port. The property enjoys a private established garden, greenhouse and potting shed with a courtyard adjoining the rear of the cottage.
Adjoining is a superb link-detached stone and slate roofed barn which benefits from planning consent granted in 1993 for further ancillary accommodation linking the cottage to the barn on both ground and first floors. We are informed by the current vendor that the commencement works were undertaken and therefore the planning remains valid. It is thought that there may be a potential to adapt the accommodation or even divide into two dwellings (subject to any necessary consents) and may suit those seeking dual occupancy or income type opportunities. Further details are available upon request.
The accommodation which offers scope for improvement and updating, on the ground floor, comprises:- spacious living room with fireplace recess, kitchen/dining room, utility with side access and ground floor bathroom. The first floor provides a large master bedrooms and two further bedrooms, one below eaves.
For layout and approximate room measurements please see the enclosed Floorplan and refer to the Virtual Tour.
